Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
Yep, hear ya'...just once so far this season...some say fuel milage goes down when you drop your top due to drag....OK...worth it, topless and doorless is what Jeep is all about

Do a manual calculation. The eco gauge averages over the past 500klm unless you reset it.
I run 90% hwy and use cruise control @95-100kph, sit back and enjoy the ride. I average between 17-18mpg (thats US gallons BTW) or 13.5L/100klm with 35" tires, lift, 3.73 factory gears and A/T.

UPDATE:
Running 90klm with O/D OFF 3.73 gears and 35" tires I can now get as high as 19mpg = 12.5L/100K (manually calculated) on highway. Mixed is about 13l/100k. So that's about 525 - 560klm per 70L fuel. The 3.8 runs much smoother at 22-2500rpm. We'll see how much better the mileage gets when I hook up the Flashpaq next week...

Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
The lowest I have managed has been about 12.6 L/100km which is around 22.3 MPG (UK) 18.59 MPG US. About what I thought I would get. Sold a Pontiac Vibe to get the Jeep... couldn't be happier. The Vibe was OK... for a little car... but a Jeep is WAY MORE FUN!! The Vibe was supposed to get 46 MPG but I only every managed the mid to low thirties. Very worth the extra gas IMO !!

Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
Haven't received the flashpaq yet, but as soon as I have some results I will post them. I have also heard that the Sprint Booster combined with the Flashpaq greatly increases throttle response.

Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
Still contemplating a 2011 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara - and still watching gas prices climb higher...
So I'm wondering: how many KM are you guys getting from that 85L tank?
I understand results will vary, but I'm curious to see what the "real world" numbers are like.
Thanks guys.

Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
OK finally got the Flashpaq, and have updated the firmware via computer. I will do some testing and figuring over the next few days to see how well it works.. I have also been considering a SprintBooster to help with electronic throttle response.
Did some research and have found that the throttle-by-wire or Electronic Throttle Control (ETC) is the reason the 3.8 feels so sluggish. Seems the factory has softened the throttle response to produce a smoother driving experience. As far as I know, so far, the Flashpaq does not include an adjustment for ETC.

Hi all, I had a Honda Accord... drove and felt hum drum, bla, but did ok on gas milage. Sold it when I started looking at jeeps and bought my 09 Wrangler new... now every time I get in to drive I smile and feel great! I luv the jeep! As for the gas mileage, it sucks but I am still smiling when I fill up...
Cheers

Again, auto, 3:73's, topless 90% of the time, all highway, very little city in this calc.
Easy on the skinny peddle, 100Kms hr, don't hammer it, and I've forced myself to leave a few minutes earlier each end...less stop and go.
Doing the math that's about 9.25 L/100. Which is pretty close to what I see on the averge eco meter, and as per other post here I do reset each time. DRIVE BY THE ECO METER, it's a reminder to take your time, enjoy the Jeep, don't rush it.
Worth every penny spent on gas
And yes, bone stock....

Re: Wrangler Unlimited - What's Your Fuel Economy?
OK I just corrected the tire size, increased rev and speed limiters, changed throttle response parameter, and tuned for 87 octane. Definite difference with the Flashpaq, seat of the pants dyno says yes, worth the money. The throttle response is much better and the transmission shifts more efficiently. Certainly more snappy but still not a racecar. I will have to experiment more to see what other hidden gems are there to program..
Once I see some fuel economy numbers I will post them up.
