i need to replace my rear axle. I need to know what my gear ratio is and there is something else i need to know i think the numbers are 35 or 44???not too sure. it is a 1999 grand cherokee limited awd Quadradrive.

 

Best way to be sure is call dealer parts counter with your VIN and they will tell ya. I requested a build sheet for my XJ and got an email with some details of what it has in it. It told me that I have an 8.25 Chrysler rear axle with 3.55 gearing I think it is. Also told me spline count if I recall.
Other info was not so important.... like radio, full size spare, AC, tilt steering..... you know, stuff that is obvious. Took almost 3 weeks to get it though, so call dealer if you need info fast.
Hope you can find a new axle, someone on here may know more of the build specs for you.

Now all I have to so is find one. I called partsource they want over $500. The wreckers don't seem to have any. This is the last thing I need to get it road worthy go figure.

 

typical axles in a Jeep are the Dana 30, Dana 35 and Dana 44
