Angry Stay Away from Team Chrysler for JEEP

Not sure what has happended to customer service at Chrysler...maybe thats one of the reasons for their current troubles. Now comes the vent & story........

I recently went to Team Chrysler in Mississauga, Ontario to take over a lease on a Liberty. I have always had cherokee's and was interested in purchasing a Liberty but wanted to test one for a few months....so a lease takeover sounded like a good idea.
That was until I visited Team Chrysler Jeep.

Met the Leasing Manager John Bianchi last Sat morn, everything went well..liked the Liberty 06, Khaki - 10 month lease....put a down of $500 and submitted my credit app.

Upon my return to work Mon, I have an email from John sent about 2 hrs after my visit on Sat. telling me someone was in ahead of me and they have first crack at the Liberty (i arrived before the door opened BTW).....so I'm thinking to myself this guy doesnt know what the hell he's doing and why the did he have me put $500 down to hold the vehicle when someone else had viewed it, and sub'd their credit app(supposedly)??? Fishy to say the least.

A few days later after I had followed up with him numerous times I get an email (posted below)
"Your application was declined.
Please stop by to get your Deposit refunded.
Regards,
John"

So I send an email asking what the problem was and what the next steps are.
Did not receive a response and am quite peeved I wasted my time visiting Team and an actual Chrysler dealer. I knew there was a reason I dont buy from dealers and now I have a new reason to avoid Chrysler dealers....feels like he screwed me over....get your marbles straight Team Chrysler, cuz you lost another customer.

Thanks JeepsCanada for a place to vent and let fellow jeepers know my trouble with Team Chrysler.

Give Chrysler Canada a call and find out why it was declined and put in a complaint, you may get some better service.
Have had a few problems with dealers before but a phone call has usually fixed the problem.

Welcome to Team Chrysler dude !! I had a huge issue with them recently too. By the way there is other websites dedicated to Team Chrysler and poor customer service and money scams. If you want to complain .. here is the e-mail for the Vice president. Once I sent this guy an e-mail everything was resolved in about 20 min. Brampton Chrysler is very good, you just have to deal with the right sales man. If you decide to go with Chrysler .. go into Brampton Chrysler ask for Jason in sales or the Sales manager Sandro tell them Lee reffered you.

DONT BUY FROM (( TEAM CHRYSLER DODGE JEEP MISSISSAUGA ))

So I will begin by letting everyone know that I purchased my Charger at Brampton Chrysler I also purchased my wifes Jeep Liberty at Brampton Chrysler. My father owns a Liberty and a Dakota. My brother purchased a PT Cruiser. So my family is long time Mopar fans.

My wife Jeep recently had some problems and we decided to trade it in and get a USED Dodge Journey...good family car ..I have a 13 month old.

My wife and my 13 month old went into Team Chrysler in Mississauga at Mavis and the 401 to look at some cars and a sales man aproached her to look at a used Journey.

After my wife spoke with him he explained that the USED Dodge Journey on the lot was $30,888 before taxes and the car has 39,000 kms <--- odd right ?? Brand new its cheaper then that.

So after speaking with the sales man she told him the price was too high and he claimed he would give the car for $25,000 she told him how much she wanted her payments to be and he obliged her. By the time it was all said and done my son was crying to leave he was asking her to sign .. she gave a $200 deposit and signed papers for a 2009 Dodge Journey. When she got home I decided to look at the papers she signed. I will explain .....

Basic Vehicle Price = $30888.00
Former Rental
Customer Guaranteed Balloon $12153.00 <---------WTF ?
Discount = $4579.16
Total= $26308.84
+ Pre delivery $189.00
+ Customer Value Package $149.00
+ Administration fee $299.00
+ Safe Gard Etch $199.00
+ OMVIC Fee $5.00
+ Nitrogen Tire Gard $139.00
+ Gold Plan $1340.00
+ License Fee $10.00

Now ... after looking at all of this I decided to take a look on the TEAM CHRYSLER website .. and quickly realized .. the car my wife just purchased is sitting on the website with same VIN only 31,000 kms .. and for only $22,000.00. WTF !!!!!

So just to get an understanding ..

My wife was told that a ( USED Rental ) sitting on the lot with 39,000 kms was $30,888
(the price of a BRAND NEW Journey ) despite the fact the car was only $22,000 then they made her sign papers for $26,308 ..actually $27,347 and rolled her payments so at the end of 5 years .. she would have to make a ballon payment to pay off the car. On top of that they added every known fee they could.

I will be canceling the deal tomorrow for this car, and I unfortunately already know they are going to screw my wife for the $200 deposit she put down.

I want everyone to know about this dealership and how dirty it is. My wife said that the sales man and the sales manager kept getting together and laughing the whole time.

Yeah good for your TEAM CHRYSLER you scammed a young women with a 13 month old child out of her money and time. GOOOD !

Unfortunately I have to go in to this dealership tomorrow and get the ownership back for my wifes Liberty and try to get the $200.

I will be contacting Chrysler Canada about this .. however I dont think they will be doing anything about it. However I will make sure that everyone knows about this place and to not purchase anything from them.

O.K ....sooooooooooo... to update my situation. Sales associates name is ... Nelson Tang

I showed up at the dealership this morning at 9:00 when they open. I spoke with the used car sales manager (Dan Spasojevic) asfter yelling and explaining he told me that he will give me the car for the price listed on the website LOL... I told him that even if he gave me the car for $15,000 I wouldnt take it just because of this...so he said he will refund my deposit and cancel the purchase. He said let me just speak with his manager .. John Kingston who is the general manger. So John called me into his office and flat out told me that at that dealership they do not cancel purchases. He offered to lower the purchase amount however I explained that I cant purchase from them because of this miss trust. He said well .. there is nothing else you can do. I asked for the ownership back from my wifes Jeep that she is trading in and he said unfortunately .. we own that Jeep. He said you can give us a call to let us know when you will be bringing us out Jeep. I told him my wifes Jeep has not been paid out by them. He said .. I will have it paid out right now... .........

So at this point I was really upset had to get out of there fast.. so I told him I guess I will have to go about this another way. He said he has been through this kind of thing before and wont be the last said that it will be a long and hard fight but he always comes out on top.

Sooooooooooooo I left called my bank .. told them to not let anyone put through any application under my name and make sure they dont give the payout amount to anyone other then myself for the Jeep.

This is when .. I contacted Chrysler customer service .. kinda useless .. he told me that the dealer should not be able to do that but said there is nothing they can do about it. 1.800.465.2001

I called the Ontario dealer association 905.940.6232.. they told me they dont deal with it gave me another number

called OMVIC 416.226.4500 they told me that I need to send a registered letter to the dealership and wait 5 days .. and if they dont respond then they can force them to cancel the contract .. well I dont have 5 days.. sooooo

I contacted City TV .. 416.599.2489 explained on a voice mail after being transfered what happened.

I contacted Ontario Ombudsman .. 1.800.263.1830 left a message for them to call back.

Then as I was looking through the website I noticed the Vice presidents e-mail address (Bourke Boyd) ..who is under Bary Gray the owner. So I emailed him everything that happened..

20 minutes later I got a call from John Kingston telling me he was going to refund my deposit and cancel the purchase. Im assuming that the e-mail did the trick .. I think.

So I went into the dealership and got my deposit back and they cancelled the purchase.

Thats my story .. I take partial responsibility because I didnt look at the papers till that night. __________________

Jesus this dealer should be shut down. You should have had send the letter and let OMVIC start their process. THe fines they would have faced is huge and it puts a mark against them. The problem with situations like this is most people do not follow through on their complaints and so then the next person gets to go through it as well. OMVIC can work, but people have to follow through. I have my sales Lic and have worked in a couple dealers, this is not an acceptable practice and would have been punished. The rep and the dealer could have lost their Lic.

I went out to the Mississauga dealership, and was just getting a bad vibe from the guy just in a general chit chat, asking me why the hell i was in a WJ, and i should have been in a JK... i wasn't going to take that crap, i bought what i bought for several reasons!

so i headed over to Oakville Dodge, North on Trafalgar off 401... their service department was great, even with my american jeep, they didn't even try and rip me off! and took care of my daytime driving relay with the quickness. and even suggested a few shops for welding up my cracked tranny.

Yeah I will agree not all Chrysler dealerships are bad. I have had some great experiences with Brampton Chrysler, Peel Chrysler and even Erin Chrysler. Its funny that all of these dealership have all told me to keep away from Team. They have had customers come to there dealerships with horror stories about Team.

I called Chrysler about Team and they did mark something down regardning the dealership but thats it. Dont know if they got a mark against them or what happened. But after they refunded me and appologized I just wanted to move on it was really bringing me down.

Great! I just bought a 2011 JK from Team....my experience was not that bad, I got a decent value on my trade in and a good price on my new JK.

I found them to be ok as I purchased my previous vehicle from Raceway. Raceway was such a rip off, from sales to service. I did some service work on my 2007 300 at Team and they actually saved me money - Raceway wanted to charge me 80$ in parts and 250$ in labour for a steering rack noise. The shop forman at Team took my car for 10 minutes and fixed the problem free of charge - he just had to lube something up in the steering column.

That experience made me take my service business to Team and eventually buy a new car from them....now that I read the stories above I am kinda scared.

I sold cars for Chrysler and for GM before so I know how the numbers work and I am certain they did not take me for a ride there but I am still a little weary now..

I am biased with all this....Yes you have been put in a corner and were getting screwed over but this happens at a lot of dealerships unfortunately as they all want to make a sale and none of them want to lose a sale as to why they didnt want to give your wifes Jeep back. Usually when this happens and if your fortunate enough you end up dealing with someone at the top in which you did with this case and I would have to say that if you are building a relationship and have contact with the owner of the dealership and he has already made it right for you I would stay because when it comes to any issues down the road, i.e warranty...., and there is a problem who is the one thats going to go to bat for you and make sure you are taken care of??

If this was a Sales Manager contacting you I dont know if I would feel so comfortable but being that its the owner you just got your foot in the right door.

Now I have heard a ton of horrible stories about Team Chrysler and when I was purchasing my car everyone told me "dont go to Team they are a bunch of scammers and will try to screw you whichever way they can" They do have a horrible track record and I have not have any dealings with them but your always going to find someone trying to screw you into a deal at any dealer thats why you shop on the last day of the month at almost the end of the day because they are willing to bend over backwards for you to meet their month end sales.
