New 2014 Cherokee
Looking at the new Cherokee. Wonder what you think?
Reading a lot of write ups.
Some like it, some don't. I do.
Design is different and bold. Pricey!
Trailhawk model has offroad capabilities.
Never be a Wrangler!
But for trails crappy roads, snow, ice mud. Should be good.

I took a look around at quite a few reviews and yes, it seems to be a love hate situation.
The new Cherokee can be quite the package but it needs to be configured just right. I would go for the V6 over the four cylinder model, and of course a 4X4 setup.
I don't mind the looks of the Trailhawk and it's more up my alley in terms of off road.
It will never be a Wrangler but will get the job done.
Sales are through the roof so people are buying them, seeing them on the road more and more too.
I'd say take one out for a test drive and see what you think.

Re: New 2014 Cherokee
I picked mine up yesterday in London. It is white/black trim..
No dealer will receive any unless it is ordered.
I got the last one available between Windsor and London.
They can't build them fast enough for stocking a dealership..
Canada is only 4 % of Jeep sales and the majority are for U.S. markets.
Europe has the diesel and 6 speed models but not NA.
Lots of electronics and sensors. Locking rear axle and 5 - 4 x 4 settings.
Sits up 2 " over the regular Cherokee. Tough looking.
See how it goes.

Re: New 2014 Cherokee
Cherokee is pretty sweet. Sold my 2011 Wrangler Sport to get this one.
Trailhawk is offroad ready with skid plates and tow hooks. 9 speed tranny and 7 options for 4x4 including rear locker and rear lockout so I can have front wheel drive only on dry highways. [summer]
Hope the pictures work out!

Re: New 2014 Cherokee
Jeep is pretty good in the snow. went through some deep drifts. No issues.
Seems to be as good as the Wrangler for normal driving on snow and ice.
Wrangler [2 Dr]seemed light where the Hawk seems heavier probably because it is lower.
Less ground clearance than the Wrangler.

Re: New 2014 Cherokee
The Hawk is a nice ride. Has the rugged Jeep firm attitude with Grand Cherokee options.
My Wrangler [2011] had good seating and rugged additude and the Hawk has the same but smoother. The Wrangler Sahara could be fitted with all the same features but Wrangler is a definite Offroad leader.
Hawk is lifted 2.0" higher than the stock Cherokee with skid plates and tow hooks and if you look at any of the YouTube flicks, it is quite capable offroad. It is trail rated and tested at MOAB.
Has some new stuff, 9 spd tranny and need to see how that works long term. New motor in the 3.2ltr.
I don't plan on a lot of offroad, I did that with my CJ7. But, I am a Jeep guy [this is #8] and I wanted 4x4 with a good towing capacity [4500lb] and some options.
So far I have it all!
