Maintenance/Service and Warranty

Maintenance/Service and Warranty
Hey all,
Can anybody tell me if Jeep Wranglers in Canada need to have their maintenance conducted by a Jeep service centre?
The reason I ask is because I live in St. John's, Newfoundland, and there are 2 Jeep dealerships here. Both of which are pretty crap when it comes to customer service. I still want the maintenance to be completed, as per the schedule in the manual, but I don't particularly want to use these two vendors. So, can I take my Jeep to any garage/service centre?
Cheers

Re: Maintenance/Service and Warranty
I've to date, found that a long as you have dated receipts with the work AND the mileage at which the service took place no dealership will void your warranty. Likely due to the fact that should you take them to court, judges love a paper trail! Even if you do your own servicing, save the dated store receipt for the oil and filter (and/or any other parts you install) and write down ON the slip the mileage you performed the work is also adequate. Now while I've never had serious warranty issues, I know that come trade in time that dealers love a paper trail of service work.
I also know for a fact any dealership, not just the one you purchased from, can do servicing and warranty work. I purchased my 2011 Sahara from a dealership over a hour away because he had what I wanted on the lot and was willing to discount the price because he did. I've never been back since, as I like the workmanship of one of my local dealership but hey money talks!

Re: Maintenance/Service and Warranty
Thanks for the reply. This is what I was hoping. I might contact Jeep directly (and Chrysler, as I also own a van of theirs too!), and see if I can get something in writing!
