Default Lift Kit Advice/Tips

Hey guys, im new here and just looking for some help. I want to get a lift kit for my jeep and have been looking at a couple different ones. The ones im looking at are:
#1) 2,5" http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_jk_2perf.html
#2) 2.5" http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_jk_2.html (premium kit)
#3) 3.5" http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_jk_3-seriesII.html

Mostly i want to know the advantages/disadvantges between the two 2.5" kits and anyone who has 1 installed how they are working out. Also, will I need to look for anything else to go with the kits? example. longer drive shafts, other parts from personal experiences that would be a help.

Before anyone can give good answers we need more info from you. What model and # of doors do you have? As an example a two door auto may need rear driveshaft changes on 3" lift where a two door std or any 4 door probably won't immediately need changes. Skid plates? Some have reported issues. I have had great success calling vendors directly. They (now that I called) have heard every question there is.

Hey Smitty,

I'm in St. Johns and in the same boat as you. Looking for a budget boost for my 2010 sahara unlimited. I'm finding it to be a difficult decision with not many clear answers out there.

Might I suggest you check out www.wranglerforum, and in the JK Jeep forum go to the JK Lift Reviews thread, They running a great pros/cons discussion and Rough Country's kits are mentioned (not favourably unfortunately). The pics from the submittors look like they have put the kits through so serious "field testing".
Perhaps we should start a threat like this, if this thread doesn't generate the answers your seeking?

Maybe this could be that thread :)

I have also been over at jeepforum.com and a few discussions being had over there. A lot of people seem to be recommending a simple suspension spacer kit.

Realize that this thread is a month old, but, NTL , I have done 4 JK lifts and will strongly suggest the more complete TerraFlex 2.5" BB or the TerraFlex Budget spring lift (new springs instead of spacers). If you have any questions PM me...
