Well in the art of Bear cannot leave things alone the Brute is under revision yet again!!
Da Brute is getting the all new Bear TraX 4x4 7075 T651 aluminum 3 link in the front and triangulated 4 link rear along with aluminum track bar/tie rod/drag link(true crossover.....I am sick of the dead spot in the inverted T steering!!!). This will be dampened with 14 inch King coil overs and hydraulic bumps in the front and rear. We will also try to relocate the battery out of the engine bay, strip off the Volant snorkel and replace it with a cowl intake(in the wiper cowl), the NV3500 is parting and being replaced with an AW4 with RA Designs twin stick shifter. Gonna swap the StaK 3 speed t-case out for an Atlas 2speed/NWT Black box combo(for a 173.24-1 crawl ratio in uber low)......the 125 pound front bumper is also being replaced with a lighter and improved version.....a stubby/stinger grill guard combo. The fenders will be changed out for lighter 8 inch high clearance rears and Metalcloak overline fronts. We are also flatening the belly and installing a 2 inch T-6 bully up kit that is both an engine/transfer case skids.......sheesh when am I going to learn to leave well enough alone!!:lol_hitting: Here is a few of the pics of the arms...and....front coil overs Attachment 4216 Attachment 4217 Attachment 4218 Just a little teaser of the progress we have made on The Brute...... .oh and there is room for 42's at full articulation(stuff on one side-droop on the other) soooo.... 42 inch MTR's are ordered!!!:3gears: Dunno when she will be done but hopefully will have her oiut before the snow flies! ??? Well we didn't work on the Brute this weekend but the work we did get done is exactly the same except for the high steer arm just on the project right next to the Brute so here are some teaser pics!!

As always very cool Bear. You should be able to make a poster like "the evolution of man" with the Brute. Something all us Jeepers could hang in the garage!

Well as some of ya know we have taken the opportunity to upgrade the motor with some 505 Performance goodies. The pre mod stroker ran hot and fell flat on its face at about 45-4700 RPM. The running hot issues were due to too much timing, lean fuel and a cam that was building excessive cylinder pressures.
So we decided to revamp these parts and show off our new suppliers goodies. End goal with the new combo is 350-360 horse and 400ish ft lbs. This combo has been Dyno proven on a similar bottom end at 370 horse and well over 400ft lbs so we know what to expect for the end numbers. Of course we will be looking to put the Brute on a wheel Dyno in the new year(yes yes once it is on the road) to prove the gains. Starting off a custom ground Hydraulic Roller cam with .510 lift I/E and 218/220 degrees of duration Attachment 4160 Then we added a fully ported aftermarket head casting with 2.02 and 1.6LS valves LS bee hive springs and Adjustable roller rockers Spent a whack of time porting the intake and had it ceramic coated and prepped for the 70mm throttle body from 505 Perf(sitting beside a stock TB for comparison). Attachment 4161 Attachment 4162 Attachment 4163 Attachment 4164 Attachment 4165 Then we added a fully ported aftermarket head casting with 2.02 and 1.6LS valves LS bee hive springs and Adjustable roller rockers Oh ya we also ported a Banks Torque Tube header and had that ceramic coated as well....here it is fitted to the head. Attachment 4166 Then the intake gets bolted on(pre motor assembly Attachment 4167 All on....just have to button her up and fire it with the custom tuned ECM that is rewritable for future tuning....all that is left is we are waiting for the 30lb/hr Ford injectors Attachment 4168 |
