Compass
Hiya,
OK, this may NOT be the place to ask but any comments on the Compass. My neighbor is thinking of buying one. IMHO, it's a Jeep in name only. Let's try to keep it clean and civil please.

Re: Compass
If I had the bucks I'd buy one for as a daily runner.. but offroading.. not a chance too well put together by all those lovely ladies...It looks alot like one of those foreign jobbies already on the road. Their claiming good mpg. Thats all I have to say civilized. :)

Re: Compass
my boss has hit a few deer with his compass, and parts were decently priced and readily available... he said great mpg compared to mine, but would rather have my WJ when he went for a ride in mine, more roomy inside...
as far as off-roading goes, he's taken it on TRAILS... like hard packed fire roads, anything with extreme articulation/deep ruts should be avoided ofcourse, as he scraped ALOT... of course, bone stock
if they still want decent mpg and plan a bit more adventuring off-road, the patriot should suit their tastes more... i almost got one since it has more of a Cherokee body and new... but had to go with a WJ and a I6 since i plan on a bit more off-road... since the patriot is available in I4 configurations... still drove nice, had it on hard packed fire roads and found away around a couple gates since i didn't have my keys... but drove really well... i just dont trust the new 4 bangers
theres a few videos on youtube of what the patriot is capable of stock, nothing amazing, but still can hold its own and keep going... some 3 wheeling action... so its not too bad
i say test drive them, and take them somewhere he plans on possibly going and see how it holds up
