Question Camshaft sensor gone bad

never shown signs Jeep ran great. Shut it off for 5 minutes went to start it again and nothing. Just cranked but would not start. I had to replace the camshaft sensor. It just died like a switch turned off. I have a 2000 Grand Cherokee LTD with 4.7l. Anyone else have this sensor quit like that?

It's a common enough problem. At least you weren't driving down the freeway when it happened. Just one of those things, like fuel pumps in Chevy's and rear wheel bearings in Ford's.

My chevy did that to me a couple years ago, went into a gas station and when I came out nothing. Thats when I found out that the wire popping off of the fuel pump was common in the 1/2 tons. Good thing I had just filled up to, wouldn't want any exra weight while dropping the tank...

that was another thing too. I thought I just got bad fuel. Seeing I filled up a couple hours earlier.

The joys of owning a Jeep. You become part mechanic, part engineer, part insane...
