Default rear hub install

couple of questions, first my book calls for 150 lbs torque on the nut for the rear tapered hubs, 1955 M38A1. i just want to make sure this correct. 2nd is i have this cover, thats what ill call it, that goes behind the hub, it goes on after the hub seal. just wondered if it is just a dust shield or does it suppose to have some kind of seal pressed in it. by the way this one is a extra, not the one i have on my jeep, that explains the rust.rear hub install-seal-cap.jpg

I can not remember about the torque but the part you have is a dust/ brakes saver cover. It is only if your seal lets go, some fluid will come out and instead of getting the brakes wet and useless it diverts the oil out the bottom toward the hole in the backing plate. There is no seal pressed in it, just a gasket behind it. It's second use it to minimize the amount of dirt/ dust getting to the seal.
