Anyone drive the road into the abandonned town of Sheatown just north of Yonge Mills? The area is about 15ish km northwest of Brockville ON.

I believe that area is off limits last I heard. Join a local club such as OVO(www.ovo.ca) or EOTB(www.eotb.ca) for more info on trails.

Please for the love of god don't wheel on trails that are already closed to us, we'll just end up losing my trails for those of us who respect the law.

If you're in Prescott you can try out Black & Decker trails in Brockville. They are stock friendly(contrary to what most in the area say) and have plenty of bypasses.

How many people do you normally wheel with? What are your recovery points like? Any lift? What size/type of tires do you run? and most importantly how long have you been wheeling?

That info would be required for me to make a recommendation on trails for you to run in that area. I know quite a few really good trails but its all dependent on the answers to those questions.

88XJ thanks for the reply. I was actually out looking for an abandonned town / ghost town. I just happened on the road and turned around as soon as it looked too challenging.

My XJ is still stock except for a CB and I was alone. I do not yet have front hooks.

Good point about staying off roads where we are not welcomed. I plan on joining EOTB but I think I have to get at least front tow hooks first. Otherwise I do not go wheeling yet, more like trail / old road driving and I certainly do not trespass if I see signs.

I do get the email updates from EOTB but I have yet to go out with the gang.

How do you get to the B&D area?

Yes hooks in the front are very important like wise something in the rear, even a trailer hitch would pass for a few times, then either make yourself a hook or get a intern't truck tow hook and use the same septical as you use for your trailer. Tow strap (no chains) and NEVER offroad alone..2 vehicles is a min. You'll get the hang of things, and know what to carry around in your jeep just in case.

I need some help, I've been surfing the net and looking at where to start. How do you choose a club. From what I can tell the closest clubs to me are OVO, EOTB and OJC.

Is it cool to just tag along on a trail ride with each one? Will I offend anyone by doing this? I want to do this right and not p*ss anyone off. I just want to go wheeling safely and have some fun in my stock XJ.
