County Forests, in Ontario regs?

Hey;

Just a quick question... I have found a few County forests in the area, they all have excellent trails and access roads cut into them. They are NOT posted "no tresspassing" nor are they posted "no vehicle access".
They are posted identifying them as a County forest: "No dumping, camping, or fires" makes sense.

So are these areas ok to enter and trail ride in? Anyone know where to find the official info from the ministry or county sources for Renfrew or Lanark Counties on this?

Thx

Mike

Okay I found this for Renfrew County
http://www.countyofrenfrew.on.ca/dev...y/forestry.htm

and this http://www.countyofrenfrew.on.ca/dev...gementplan.pdf

They don't specifically mention vehicle trail use except the mention of Motorized vehicles with gross weight 400kg or less.

Thoughts?

UPDATE: Got a reply to my email from the Manager of the county forestry. He said it is fine for me to use the Jeep on all existing trails. Good News Indeed.

Dude, you're in Renfrew. Much bigger problems there then jeeps on trails. Jeep away man, the cops are busy with the teenaged parent crack------s.

Hiya,
Whoa, chill out JeepManger. KAVIC was just trying to pass on information (which I found useful) and wasn't looking for comments on whatever socio-economic problems Renfrew County may or may not be experiencing.
Let`s keep this about Jeeping please.

Thanks Peter. Hey you ever get out toward North Gower way ? Marlborough Forest isn't far from my folks place and It is apparently a decent place to trail run.

Wasn't causing trouble, just saying that smaller towns don't have enough cops to deal with stuff like wheeling unless there's an actual complaint put out..... Especially if the trail is accessible and not signed.

Greetings,
I think KAVIC did the right thing by checking with the authorities regarding the trails he is interested in. As far as signage, who knows if 10 min. before some "local" ripped down the no trespassing signs for whatever reason. People's complaints to the police will be ignored if one is LEGALY on a trail acting in a responsible manner. Too many good trails have already been closed due to irresponsible users who create problems, damage property and leave garbage strewn around.
I think it's safe to say that ALL Jeeps Canada members are straight-up folks who just want to have fun in an area and want to go back to the same area without causing problems for either the local law enforcment types or local residents. At least that's the impression I've been getting reading these threads and reports.
KAVIC, nope, haven't been wheeling with Muriel yet. I'm still running on poor tires which are reaching the end of their useful (for what it's worth) life. IF I can swing it before the snow flies, I'm surely going to invest in a set of BFG radial A/T's (standard size). I've had 2 sets on a previous Jeep and I've found them to be a pretty good tire. Marlborough forest looks interesting.
