increasing horsepower with a resistor
I saw this on ebay:

Seems to good to be true, and I don't understand how it would work.

Re: increasing horsepower with a resistor
I've seen tricks like this that physically move the incoming air temperature
sensor to the filter box in order to sense cooler air. I'm told it does
make a difference, although I don't think it changes the timing as much as
enriches the mixture (maybe both?).
Buy it, try it, and let us know how it works. (get a dyno test, though.
none of this, "it seemed to help" stuff.)

Heh.. 9$ for a .03$ resistor. What a scam!
All it does is trick your computer into leaning out the mix. That in itself isn't
a good idea. Although you will get more power you also run a lot hotter and risk
burning out the piston face.

How about another engine? Modern engines last much longer now because of the
fuel management systems, rather than any breakthroughs in engine design.
