'97 XJ won't start...and no codes

'97 XJ won't start...and no codes
Hi,
I have a 97 XJ that won't start, it turns over, but just won't fire
up. Now, ordinarily, i wouldn't bother posting with something of this
vague nature, however-- I can't pull up any codes. Not even a 55 will
appear, so does that mean the computer brain is dead?
The jeep was fine last night when I parked it, i filled up completely
yesterday on gas...fuel pump? If it was something along those lines,
wouldn't I still have at least a 55 appearing when i try for the
codes?
Any help would be appreciated,

The first thing I would suspect here is the crank position sensor. It
will not always code. (it only codes if coil opens up not usually if
the sensor is weak and not triggering right. When it is bad, you will
not get any fire at all. Check it before you go on a wild goose chase
like suggested above. If sensor is good then go to plan "B" the goose
chase but the CPS's do go bad with age and can fail suddenly.
