Who makes a good winch for a good price? Are the stock winches by Mopar any
good? Can I do better?

Mopar Winches are made by Warn and are basically the XD series. They work
fine.

Mopar's winches are made by Warn.. You'd be better off just buying a
Warn winch as you'll find it is cheeper and is litterly the same
thing.. I currently have an hs9500 on my TJ.. I haven't yet had the
opertunity to use it on my jeep yet ... But I had the winch on my
3/4ton on 37's for three years and used it dozens of times and it
was able to move it around with little problem.. I have no doubt it
will more then do the job for me on a significantly smaller
vehicle..

My Warn 8000 is a marvel. A warn will be much less expensive than
your dealer's Mopar.
