Hi all - ok baffled by this. I have a 2018 jeep grand cherokee summit. All I want to do is play songs using my usb flash drive plugged into one of the usb ports at the front of the jeep.
I checked the flash drive - good (it plays on my ford car no problem using its usb port), plays on my computer pc no problem, but when I try and play it on my jeep - nope! I get a "USB reconnect error".
I reformatted the flash drive - didn't help. I checked the file formats of my songs (mp3), so that's all good.
and checked f80 fuse - good.(out for 30 seconds then back in)
I also did cleaned the usb ports, soft reset, and reset the u-connect usb. nothing helped.
the weird thing is if I use an external drive, plugged into the usb port - it works!? but does not recognize a flash thumb drive?

any suggestions?
