Question about cleaning Jeep
Hello all,
So I love to drive my Jeep in the mud.
I found a new development zone over the weekend that was recently levelled but since it had been raining like crazy it generated a good foot and a half of beautiful fresh mud (which in hindsight might have been mixed with concrete?).
I took my Jeep in for a stroll, which quickly became an hour long awesome mud fest - a real sight to behold. lol.
Well xmas is coming up so I'm driving up North to see my family. I'd like to clean the mud off my Jeep.
I painted the bumpers and rocker panels with black textured bedliner (FYI).
So I started by spraying down the Jeep with a water hose on high pressure. It turned some of the mud chunks into brown liquid and spilled off.
There were still 70% of the mud clumps stuck to the side of my Jeep, so I hand picked them off the bumpers, rocker panels, windshield, and side view mirrors.
There was still a thick film of brown mud on the side panels of the Jeep (no matter how much I hosed it). So I took a towel and towelled down the side of the Jeep (this worked very well).
The problem is the textured bedliner paint. It is textured. It loves to hold onto that mud. Does anyone know how I might be able to get this thick mud film off so they appear black-ish again?
I know that a dirty Jeep is a happy Jeep... but... I'm heading into Arctic conditions next...

Hey there,
Get a bucket of soapy water and a bristle brush. Use Spray Nine on the textured surface when as dry as possible and let it soak for few minutes. Then start scrubbing with the soapy water and hose it off. Repeat until it comes clean. I have a textured black paint on my fender flares and my half doors and agree it's a magnet for grime but looks awesome when it's clean. I use a Meguiar's product called ULTIMATE QUICK DETAILER between cleanings. It's got some kinda magic polymer in it that repels dirt. Apply it after you wash and the Jeep is dry. You can spray it on plastic, paint, softtop doesn't matter it don't leave residue like wax products and repels water and dirt like a greasy duck. It's great stuff

Thanks for the tip ! It worked.
While we are on the topic has anyone else had the issue of Lime in the water? When water droplets dry on my Jeep they turn white. I have to dry off the Jeep with a towel before it dries to solve this problem... rain does not dry white, it dries clear.
Any tips on how to filter lime out of my water ?
