Hi,
I have a 2002 Liberty Sport V6 with a problem with the windshield/rear window washers. Activating the rear washer switch will was the windshield. Activating the windshield washer will wash the rear window.

At first I thought this must be an electrical problem with a connection crossed somewhere. But a friend has suggested it could be a case of the two hoses being reversed at the washer pumps/motors.

Any suggestions?

If it is an electrical issue, can you suggest the best place to attack the wiring to fix it?

If it is a case of the hoses being reversed, where would I find the darn motor to reverse them back?! I have a manual on order but haven't the foggiest idea where to look right now.

Now that is weird! If I had to guess I would say your multi function stick is done. I'm not sure there is much you can do to fix the old one. :(

 

In the end it was a relatively simple solution: reversed the hoses on the washer motor. Works perfectly now.

No, it was like that when I bought it. I asked the previous owner about it and he just said "Oh yeah - it's always been like that...". He drove it like that for ten years!

 

Now that is funny!
