Knocking noise only when turning to the right
Ok, so today I heard a knocking/banging noise when I turned to the right. I looked at the whole front end of the jeep and nothing is loose or has any play to it. From what I can tell when I have someone else turn the steering wheel for me and I look under the jeep it appears that the noise is coming from the u joint assembly on the steering shaft between the steering wheel and the steering box. But why would I only hear this noise when I turn to the right?
Thanks

Let me know what you find out, as mine is doing the same.
I just purchased mine a couple of weeks ago so i am still learning the noises and feelings of the jeep.
Mine only started this week but now that i think of it last week i was trying the 4x4. So the noise is only since i have tried it out in 4x4. Is it possible that the front end is still locked in 4x4?

It ended up being my track bar. It was worn out on the drivers side and when I asked a mechanic that was inspecting my jeep about it he found it. I could hear the noise whether I was moving or not. If you can have someone turn your steering wheel for you while you place your hand on the track bar this will help you find it. I purchased an adjustable track bar and replaced it on my own. It only took a couple of hours. As for being locked in 4WD if you lift the front of your jeep so both tires are off the ground and attempt to rotate your tires by hand the should spin independently of each other. If you're still in 4WD they will both spin but opposite directions of each other.Let me know if you have any other questions. Where abouts are you in Ontario?
