Yup and it is hard to get out again when your truck will not rev and you are stuck in 2WD LOL!

Same reving issues as the other weekend, thought the tune up solved it, but nope, but on a high note, I did everything but that hole on the weekend and for the record, that was a lot more then any of the Jeeps could do LOL!

I have to say sorry for that one, I had the Darn cam with me and never hooked it up on the last couple runs. I think I took a short one on this last one, but I have not even looked at it to see if it was worth posting.

Well Rob, Id say I have a perfect fix for your motor issues...

I got a 16valve waiting so see 7000rpm in the green beast. :)
All the Wiring and ECM included.

Anyone know where I can get a pair of toyota axles from ROB? lol

Yes, that my little sunrunner that fell on it`s side.
Broke a rear axle and front spiders from that incident. Still Drove it back to the road though.

yes 16 valve's are nice BUT they are not as reliable as an 8 valve. and the 16 valve has an interference head and the 8 valve is not just look at what most of us on ZOOKPOWER.ca are using 8 valve and most of them use the sammy t case with toy axle's and they drive them on the street as well.

Re: oct 19th run

I`m not going to knock any motor. I started with an 8 valve. I blew it up. I am very hard on parts. I enjoy beating on my truck. I have had a 16valve for a year now. It has considerably more power then my 8 valve. If you do proper maintenance and generally take car of your junk, almost any motor is reliable.
That said, even the 16 valve is low on power for myself.
I`m switching over to a 1.9TD from a 95 golf.
Much more power, Just gotta get used to the 5000rpm redline...lol

all you zuk guys do that VW swap they are such garbage motors lol i dont get the pupose especially for usei n mud when you cant spin them up to keep your tires moving to clean them out

not to sure but that 1.9td is 100 hp and loads of torque.the 16valve rev's high but when you blow a timing belt you bend valve and 8 valve's you don't. a friend of mine has an 8 valve with 180 hp and 220 ft. the only advantage to the vw swap is fuel millage like 30 to 40 mpg. I'm in the middle of building an 8 valve myself with an 89 wiring harness

hahahaha man yota motors arent bomb proof. my 22r threw a rod straight out the block with me driving it. and i think thats the second or third time that motor had been rebuilt from spinning bearings.

bigt 11-04-2008 07:23 PM

Re: oct 19th run

do you not see that motor running with no oil and a window in the block???

all engines can be crap depending on lots of diff ----... ive had one 22re at 4000000kms with like no work done not even timing chain
and 2 more are 230 000kms and still pass a etest better than a civic lol

but in reality all cars are junk its true!

89lxstanger 11-04-2008 08:28 PM

Re: oct 19th run

T ignore him he did sweet F U C K all to that motor and it probably had no oil he over heated it like 3 times on the powerlines while well above 7000rpm then got buried in a whole and was somewhere between 7k and valve float when a rod let go and put a 3in by 3in whole in the block!

my 82 pick up had 300k on the 22r i spun it around 7500 all the time and it never failed me
the 22re in the runner has been hydrolocked twice the first time being VERY serious a d it some how survived been flopped over ran on its side for extended periods etc etc

thats why my tracker is getting a toy drivetrain- i alos love the gear options for t case(S)

Re: oct 19th run

Clearly you haven`t had any experiance with a 1.9VW motor.(AAZ)
5000rpm is plenty to keep the tires clean in mud..
The diesel is easy to wire and will go many more kms (500 000 plus) then any gas motor, and will do it much more economicaly. It`s as light weight as a 1.6 with twice the power as well. It also will run veggie oil (free fuel)
Perfect for my DD/trail truck.
Only mod required to up the HP is to the injector pump and turbo. Much less expensive then the gasser.

Really though, mud isn`t much fun. Climbing is where it`s at..

Do you have the 1.9 in your zook? I would love to see it some time .....I have been thinking of sticking one in my sammy .....did you do it yourself?

ok fuel economi is good.i have looked in to this before for my self but the cost is to much. the acem kit is about $800.00 to $1200.00 a kit for the sidekick/tracker. you have to change the oil pan alt. bracket and run the exhaust up and over the eng. so the swap is worth more than a tracker.

4wheeler 11-16-2008 10:14 PM

Re: oct 19th run

I`ll be done the swap in the spring. It`s going to be my DD. Currently rust free :)

You only need an oil pan if you run the IFS. I am going SAS.
The exhaust drops on the passenger side. Lots of room for it. I am not using any kit. I will build my own motor mounts and adapter plate. I have a drill, measuring tape, and plasma cutter.

The only thing I can`t get away from spending money on is the remote oil filter adapter and the pyrometer. I`m using the golf radiator with remote pressurized resevoir and evans waterless coolant.
