the amount of false members has been dramatically increasing lately. this crap drives me nuts... i understand moderators/admins are in short supply around here, but maybe we could lock up registrations for a while or have registration limited to one week/month or something along those lines... might help the situation a little.

am i alone in this? is anyone else annoyed by these spammers? any suggestions on how the situation could be rectified?

speak up guys/gals... we need to make some changes before we start losing real members.

no, what i'm getting tired of is 20 (or more) single, seperate posts in almost every subforum that are nothing more than someone posting friggin cell phones, iphones, etc., etc. for sale. best prices! who gives a ----? if they want to post UFI they should do it in the marketplace section, and not all over the board...

more than once i've clicked on "today's posts" and every single one was some stupid ad for some stupid cell phone. these are not what i call "real members". they are flooding the boards with advertising, and it's not even related material. they don't even have anything resembling a real name like yours or mine for example... they are simply random letter/number combinations.

i believe the term for them is "spambot"
