Re: Tire advice
Bump to the top.....
I have a 3 inch suspension lift and am curious of the maximum tire size I can run. Also thinking about doing the 3" body lift for a total of 6"....... |
Re: Tire advice
3 inch suspension is only good for 31 maybe 32 with a lil rubbing

Re: Tire advice
crazydean45, 33" will fit on a 3" body lift.
Kusto, If your planning on offroading I'd suggest a 4" susp lift and 2" body lift instead of a 3"+3" to get you to 6", more articulation that way and not quite as unstable for the short wheelbase. Personal opinion only. |
Re: Tire advice
It has a 3.5" suspension lift in it now and has approximately 33" tires already. I just purchased it and am looking over my options now. Just curious if rim off set makes a big difference with rubbing issues???
Currently no rub but I want to switch up the rims and need to know if there is an optimum off set (4")? I would like to run an 11" or 12" wide tire also for a little better flotation in soft ground conditions. I will be running the bushwhacker flares as well. |
Re: Tire advice
Definitely does, the wider the tire you need smaller backspacing. Can't remember what the stock is 5.5 or 6" for the YJ's.
I've got 265/75-16's on my WJ with 4.5" of BS and I still have very minor rubbing at full lock in reverse. Stock was 225/75-16's with 6" of BS |
Re: Tire advice
Decided to go with 33 x 12.5 x R15" on an 8" rim with 5 on 4.5 and 3.75" backspace. Once they arrive and I get them installed I will let you know how they work out. I hear this configuration will allow me to run really low tire pressure in soft ground conditions for improved flotation.
