spring over
Have four inch lift. Should I do spring over or no. Want more lift what to do

Re: spring over
A friend with a 94 yj did a spring over, pushed him up for sure, plus he had another 3" plus body lift. I'd stick to the spring over and not do a body lift too unless its going to be a trailer queen as on the hwy its real interesting when your 7"'s off the ground. Its a job but probably the best way to go.

Re: spring over
SOA nets you around 4-5 inches lift. Mine was stock except for SOA and I could EASILY fit 35s with tons of flex.
With 4inchs lift I would suggest you do SOA but run lower springs unless you plan on running 37s. At which point you're going to need new axles, SYE, driveshaft, regear, brake lines. SOA will run you around 1000$ + if you havent done SYE or regeared. SOA isn't as easy as you may think and certainly isn't as cheap as most people think it is. |
Re: spring over
I realize to do it right it isn't cheap. Just checking it out don't want jeep to tower over 33's. little more lift would be nice. but no hurry jeep looks good.

Re: spring over
if you want 33s you're at a good height now unless your springs sagged heavily. You could maybe add some shackles if you need some extra clearance. Pictures would help.

Re: spring over
www.imageshack.us to upload pictures. its the best and easiest way. It also helps us keep the board costs down because we dont have to host everyones pictures.

Re: spring over
Just finished spring over, was not hard to do at all, purchased a set of axle saddles, from local trailer manufacturer (Standens ltd) for a whopping $25
was not to technical did it solo in about 6 hours but having a good quality welding machine is a bonus... only things to consider is extending brake lines relocating shock mounts or buy longer shocks slip yoke eliminator (i chose to drop transfer case to stop vibrations) from stock height i gained roughly 6" running 33 x 13.5 rubber and good clearance! |
