The other day, I got stuck on a bit of a muddy hill and it took a little bit of work to get out, I'm not sure if this caused the problem, or the timing is just similar, however...

I've started to notice a rattle coming from the front end driver's side of my jeep (1990yj). I can hear the rattle over tire noise, wind, and my stereo, as well as feel it on my feet. It starts and random times and ends at random times as well, it is making me nervous to drive, does anyone have any ideas of what it may be?

 

First thing is to get under it and look around to see whats there. Check skid plates and well, just have a good look to make sure everything is attached. Don't be afraid to grab stuff and give it a good yank !

 

Bad u/joint. Just crawl under and find out which one it is, if it's making that much noise it should be fairly obvious.
