Not sure what is going on
Howdy all,
New to the forum and already have a question  Aout two months ago I had the transmission fluid changed, had no idea when it was done last or what fluid was used. The quick lube place that I took it to, told me that it was a GL3 fluid by mopar, after contacting the dealership. Before when shifting into 2nd when cold, it would be a little sticky and sometimes even pop out of gear. When the transmission warmed up, everything shifted quite a lot better. After the fluid change, shifting when cold is still a bit sticky, but now when the transmission warms up, I have quite a bit of trouble shifting in the higher gears as well. Other than I figure the obvious that there is a fluid problem, what is the correct fluid that is supposed to be in there? The transmission is stock and I know the fluid is not redline as they showed me the fluid after they drained it. What is a good fluid to use and would not damage my transmission? Thanks |
Re: Not sure what is going on
if it's a YJ then just 80/90 but if its 5speed then you got other problems, fluids wouldn't cuz that sounds more like a bent shifting fork
