If I put a basic 3" body lift onto my wife's Jeep (she only uses it to go to the grocery store and take the kids to school, no offroading, hence the body kit) how big can I go with the tires?

What is the current tire size? With a 3 inch lift you should be able to run a 31inch tire with no problems. However you might have tire rub on tight turns. Do you plan on changing out the rims as well? If you install a 31inch Tire on a 15 x 8 rim you will want to have a 4 inch back spacing. My suggestion would be to do a 3 inch suspension lift and stay away from the body lift, as it will put stress on the body mounts.
