I find the shifts in the 1990 Laredo "notchy". The throw needs to be very precise or you can feel the gears trying to mesh. Fluid levels are good but I am recent owner and wonder if I should change tranny fluid. Opinions on best brand and specs?

 

I hope by now you have it fixed..but if not here is a few suggestions. Go underneath and check the linkage at the tran, it could be bent from being forced, if okay try spraying a little lub unto the linkage,changing the fluids will never hurt. Best I wudn't know, I just go by the book.
