So debating on either A: siping my Hankook MTs or B: buying winters.. looking into Goodyear wrangler territory from canadian tire.. on special 285/70/17 for (4) $1100 installed.
Anyone have experience with these. I keep reading great reviews online but can't seem to decide.

I am looking for the tires which should be comfortable in rain as well. This is why because I live at the top of hills so after rain the road become slippery .
Any special tires which are specially design for the rain purpose. Please paste here that link. Really encourage you.

 

Any tire with lots of siping and grooves will be better in the rain than a standard mud terrain lets say. A good all terrain tire is probably your best bet. Depends on your needs other than rain.

 

You know the Goodyear Wrangler Territory is not a winter tire. Unless you are going to buy "winter" tires, save the money and have your M/T siped.

A true winter tire has a different tread, compound and siping which is like sealed beams vs halogen lights.

If you are buying from Canadian Tire, select the "winter tire" option first.

There will be 1000s of opinions saying a good all season is as good as any winter tire but after you try that "winter grip" you will likely agree. They are worlds apart. And no professional on the news/sports, net/magazine has ever said different.

 

Agree there's nothing like a dedicated snow tire for winter conditions.

Snow forecast in the coming days, so I installed my Blizzak DM-V1.

Damn it changed the look over my MT tires, it looks so, ..., skinny and road tire look. But at least I can say that they are performing very nicely on dry and wet road and country dirt/gravel roads. A lot more quiet than my Destination MTs, comfortable, nice handling and easier on gas.

Now waiting for winter conditions in the next few days to report more. Up to now, except for the less agressive look, they are very nice.

 

It will soon be a redundant question in Quebec. Sometime in 2014 you will be required to run winter tyres with the "mountain snowflake" on them, Don't know when the exact date is but light trucks running LT's were exempt, but cars have had to have them for a few years now.

 

I have used the wrangler territory's, they are so-so in my personal opinion. I would recommend a winter tire as well. But, between option A and option B I would personally go with option A. But siping tires is an extreme test in patience. I would recommend getting it done professionally. Those of you who do it yourselves have my full respect.
