New Shoes Needed + Advice

Well, the OEM tires on my 08 JKU Sahara are close to being done. I have my sights set on Mickey Thompson ATZ or MTZ's. I will either go with new 17X9 wheels or try and find some pre-owned Rubi wheels (hint hint).

I'm in the GTA, anyone out there have the ATZ or MTZ's that can give me some advice on how these tires perform on snow, ice, freezing rain, rain ect...

My Jeep is a DD, and I would be running these all year.

My preference is the MTZ's, but may need to be honest with myself and go ATZ.

I have looked at the Goodyear Duratrac, but have sided on MT.

Thanks!

I've put this on b/4 but here's a great site to see thread pattern, reviews, etc on tires: Off Road Tire Guide for Mud and All Terrain Tires - Offroaders.com I had maxxis Big Horn's on my 89 xj then moved them to my tj, they were a very good tire both offroad and on the street (hard compound). The set I have now are Mickey Thompson mtz. I found them very good in winter (I believe they are a softer compound), offroading and street. Which ones are quieter I really don't know. They are more ready available than the Maxxis for my area otherwise I probably wud have gone back to them. Allot of people like the Goodyear duratrac also, the Tixus m/t's a friend had them on his wagonner and swore by them being great in winter and offroading, BFG km2's are newer again I've heard good reviews on them too. Its hard to say what is better for you. My experience is with the Maxxis and what I have now the Mickey T. mtz.. all are 33x12.5r15..

Mr White, thanks for the quick reply, and info...I will check this link out. Good feedback on how these tires play in a Canadian winter. Tire/wheeel shopping for a Jeep is stessfull times, more so then any car I've owned....so many choices / looks, gotta get it right.

check out the toyo OC MTs... much better tire than the Mickeys and they're siped so good for rain/ice .. if not then I would go with the ATZs but depends as well on how much/type of trails and you do

My choice is the BFG M/T KM2 or BFG M/T KM (original Rubicon tire available only in one size though) Better offroad tire than any A/T. Just like others said, depends of your needs. If most of your driving is on-road I presume that A/T should be a brighter choice especially for ice.
