We have a 99 Wrangler Sport, the wipers just slow down then stop working altogether. When the lever is moved to off then to high they will work again for 4 or 5 sweeps then stop till repeated.
My questions are is it the motor or poor electrical connection
How do you access the motor

I had the exact same problem in my 99 wrangler. It was the motor and its accessed through the panel right infront of the windshield and just behind the hood.

 

Check that the shafts are not seizing in the bushings.

Turned out to be the motor, replaced it and all's well
Easy fix but expensive

 

Anyone know how much of a job this would cost ? thanks to all who can answer.
