TJ Codes

Had the engine light on for a few weeks now - normally it goes out, but this time it hasn't
Checked the codes the on - off a few times with the key and read them though the speedometer. Here they are something to fix:
P0456 (M) Evap Leak Monitor Small Leak Detected Leak has been detected in the evaporative system.
P0442 (M) Evap Leak Monitor Medium Leak Detected A small leak has been detected in the evaporative system.
P0123 (M) Throttle Position Sensor Voltage High Throttle position sensor input above the maximum acceptable voltage.
P0155 (M) 2/1 O2 Sensor Heater Failure Oxygen sensor heater element malfunction. (this one is the one that is usually on)
Trying to find where they all are is the fun here..

TPS and O2 codes are pretty self-explanatory me-thinks...Evap leak...I would start at the gas cap and work backwards to the evap canister(have to remove passengers side rear fender liner)...fun fun fun keeping our TJ's running.

With the codes you have...have you noticed any performance issues? Starting, misfires, sputtering, loss of power, crappy fuel mileage etc.

cheers

Re: TJ Codes

Crappy fuel mileage is normal (not worried about that), misfires and sputters sometimes but clears up after about half a block, Went to an "Oldfart" of a guys place this am and he cleared all the codes, then drove around for awhile so far they haven't returned. Could be from the undercoating I just had done, they sprayed in allot of places and moved a few things around. Going to keep an eye on it, but thanks for the reply

Sounds like a short in the wiring harness. Is the PCM on the driver's side like in XJs? Main suspect for me would be melting or chafing where the harness gets close to the engine itself.

Sorry, I meant on a Chrysler XJ. PCM was only inside the cab for Renix
