Default Shifter Boot boot

Today being extremely cold, of course someone wants a tow. Started okay took off 1st then into 2nd gear but it
didn't want to go in. Only had 1st and Reverse. So I backed it up to my place and parked it. Problem is the shifter
boot/boot (supposed to be 2 of them) was frozen. The crap rubber/plastic whatever its made of freezes at very
cold temperatures (5166489-AA) not available anymore. They have now come out with a boot of "Leather" which
stands up better to extreme temperatures. You buy it and soak it in a good conditioner before installing it and it
should last a long long time. I haven't done anything yet waiting for a little warmer weather to tackle the job.
They are available on Ebay/Amazon and probably at some 4x4 shops I couldn't find a replacement at Jeep.
