Question For the Pros...

I recently invested in a 2004 TJ, RME. it has the alcoa wheels and the rubicon rockers like it should. My question is this, i should have a d44 out back right? If so, what am i runnning up front?
also, by this being the d44 is it considered to be a weaker verson, seeing how its not locked (yet) like the rubi verson?
Is my front axle going to be stonger enough for 35's?

thanks for that advise.

Re: Question For the Pros...

It should have a dana 44 rear and a dana 30 front end
The dana 44 rear end is the same as the rubi but without the locker and 3.73 gears vice the 4.10s in a rubi.
The dana 30 in the front may not last to long on 35 unless you are very carefull with it.
You would want to regear to run 35s it will be very slugish on 3.73s, 4.56 would be best for a daily driver on 35s

Re: Question For the Pros...

Theres a member on this site I know of running d35/d30 with 4.10 and 35's except for a few busted drv shaft joints hes doing rather good and with that heavy foot. I changed from 3.07 on the same to 4.11 but only running 33's, was advised at the time to wait and see if I start snapping axles then go for Chromium axles. Same in your situation wait and see, try what u have 3.73 and 35's if it isn't low enuff then do the change, no use wasting money on something that might not be necessary.. (my opinion)
