Re: OBD2 codes P0442 and P0455
Hiya Griff,
I googled "2001 Jeep fault codes" and came up with this...Chrysler PT Cruiser computer codes Its for a PT cruiser but I just don't have the time at the moment to read every return. Might give some help. Just do a google man and you will probably find exactly what you're looking for. This was just one of ,like, 80K returns. |
Re: OBD2 codes P0442 and P0455
From 98 TJ FSM:
P0442 Evap leak monitor small leak detected. A small leak has been detected by the leak detection monitor. P0455 Evap leak monitor large leak detected. The leak detection monitor is unable to pressurize Evap system, indicating a large leak. 03TJMJ's links will probably help you out and here's another one: Error codes P0455 & P0442 - JeepForum.com I'd start by replacing the gas cap, making sure the rubber lines to your evap canister are still good and not cracked and resetting the PCM. Good luck. |

Re: OBD2 codes P0442 and P0455
i had the same codes come up when I first bought my 01 TJ. The hose ends at the charcoal cannister had hair line cracks. I wrapped them in electrical tape as a bandaid fix but its worked for a year and no codes. I've seen alot of cracked evap hoses on Dakotas and Durangos where they pop right off.
