Default Good price for TJ?

Hey ,
Im looking at buying a 2005 Jeep TJ sport, 4.0L, 6 speed. little bit of ware such as a couple little scratches, stone chios, basic stuff really. The under body is descent , its got some rust on the underneath but im pretty sure thats normal. No rust on the body.
Anyways, Its got 106,000Km and they're asking 12,000.
Any suggestions on what ya think would be appreciated..
ps.s what should i be looking for when buying a used jeep. i know check the skid plates for damage, and basic things, but is there anything special i should look out for??

I bought my rocky mountain for $12 650. Same kms. Lifted with balding 33"tires but has a rear D44 and a wicked sound system. Remember it's a sale price which means theres room for negotiation and also remember your buying from a dealer. Go on kijiji and all the dealer prices are about 2 grand over private sales. Speaking of, just compare it on kijiji or autotrader. (Autotrader actually has a value finder) My 2c.

If you want to compare, I picked up my 2005 TJ Sport (4L/6speed, dual tops, no air) for $12,500 (spring 2009) with 42,000kms, lady driven lease return. Body was scratch free with a few rust spots underneath (comes with the southern Ontario salting). Dealer started out wanting $15,000.

If it's CHERRY, $12K is probably not tooo bad a price. I picked up a 2004, TJ Rocky Mountain edition with 80,000km, American Racing rims and brand new 31" tires for $9500. She had been rode a bit hard and I'm into it for about another $1500 on repairs. Seems pretty tight now, so whether you buy a "perfect" one or buy one that needs a bit o' TLC, you are probably gonna be $10-$12K anyway. I would STRONGLY recommend what ever you do, you set aside some scrilla for repairs, because at $100k, you are likely going to need some. You should make sure the radiator does not leak, you should check the seals on the front and rear diff, u joints and CV joints, and all front end components. Stabilizer links are a common item to be repaired. Also, if you notice anything quirky about how the starter sounds, it's likely headed for the rubbish pile.
