I'm getting a TJ...
I can hardly wait, just purchased a 2000 black wrangler. It has new tires, 4 L, hard top, 220,000 km's and the interior is mint!! I got a deal on it and it comes with the safety!
It's pretty stock but I'm going to be putting a mild lift kit in it, as well as a new head unit and speakers.
I'll be picking it up on Wednesday.
Is there anything anyone would recommend... I'm a newbie to the jeep world?

While I'm no (licensed) mechanic, I would suggest you give her a complete fluid replacement, (rad, oil, diffs and gear cases), unless you have some history to prove these things have been done. She's got over 100,000 MILES on her! Check closely for any metal in these oils (or attached to the drain plugs if their magnatized). You could have got luckly and found jewel, but you gotta move a lot of rocks to dig one out.
A mint interior just means who ever had her had a steam cleaner or seat covers!

Some advice. Read !! Learn. Troll Jeep sites like their going out of style. Start buying 4x4 magazines. Try to find a Jeep club in your area and talk to the members.
You see a jeep getting fueled, stop and talk to the driver.
I've learned MORE about Jeepin that way than owning my Jeep.
Hey thervguy I am also from Port Perry Ontario. I have a 1997 Jeep TJ with 3inch lift 33's on it.. some advice for a mild lift..be careful. I hav a 3inch rubicon express kit and my driveline angle was too steep to the rear diff; causing terrible vibrations throughout the jeep. How did I fix? What I did was dropped my transfer case 2inches to lower my driveline angle. Other ways are adding motor mount lifts, or the most costly but beneficial; getting the sye and cv driveshaft (multi jointed driveshaft) it will reduce lift problems. Again; I am not sure I dont know if it was just HOW my jeep was lifted(lifted by previous owner) or if its quite common, but I have driveline problems that came with it and those are your solutions to fixing it. cheers! Look forward to seeing you on the roads.
