how to make the jeep seats more roomy
 

new to the forum got a new to me jeep unlimited 4 door,it came with the upgraded cat skinz leather seats ,great for my wife but i just cant get comfortable a,any way to put them back farther,i feel like im in a tuna can im only 6 feet tall,unfortunatly did not get the rubicon version and wanted to put a locker up front ,any ideas

First welcome to the forum. Funny you shud ask this question, as I sit in my 03 tj being 5'11" tall I have the same problem not with my legs but I find the steering wheel is too close to me even with the tilt and my left arm is stuck between the door and my body very uncomfortable. I was thinking of moving the seat back (removing it from the floor) taking a pc of steel the width of the slider, mount the slider unto this pc of steel back a ways, then mounting the steel pc in the original holes on the floor. This way u can move the seat forward or back as u did before just that now it will go back further. Might make the person in the back a little closer but heck he ain't driving lol Its winter here like too cold to be messing around outside will wait for summer to do it. Keep me posted on what u come up with. Your idea might be easier then mine.

Haha.
I'm 5'9" and my 98 fits like a glove.
Wedged in nice, tight and comfy. Perfect imo.
Almost like an old school sportster.
You guys are just a couple of inches too tall.
But think of the alternatives. You could be in a Prelude or something similar.
That's like driving a bathtub.

hmm. Very weird. I'm 6'1 and I fit find in my 02 Sahara. Only time I was uncomfortable was after a 4 hour drive straight up the 401...that might have been because I was bouncing around so much...

I'm a husky 6'4" and fit great into it. I don't have a big stomach to reach over top of which could be a problem for some as it's a 'snug' fit? If i take some young passengers in the back seat i can pull ahead about 3 inches and it's tight for me, but doable for their added comfort. When the seat is all the way back it's great for me though. I don't understand how it would be an issue for guys under 6' tall?

my seats are raised1.25"...provides more leg room...came that way and love it
comfy in a TJ...that's a bumpy one for sure
