Front End Shake

I have a bad front end shake coming from the front wheels when you hit 75-80km/h but it goes away when you get above 100. Could it be the steering stabilizer because i dont think it has ever been changed. Any help is great thanks.

The stabalizer is a good starting point, check the front suspension out and see if there is anything loosening up or a rubber bushing wearing out. Just give everything a good pull and see if it moves.

I had the same problem , I replaced the stabalizer , it didnt do the job. I ended up replacing upper and lower balljoints. Its all good.

Is that a pretty easy job and how much did it cost?
?

The joints I got are not cheep , about $100 each. I also rented the tool to remove and install the balljoints. I spent most of a saturday doing it . Just take your time and do some reseach. You can get cheaper parts for half the cost , and they would probly do the job just fine.

Re: Front End Shake

The shake could be a whole lot of things, here's a list to help save you some time: Balljoint as previously stated, track bar ends worn, hub unit bearings, tie rods worn, bent rims, but because the shake starts at about 80 and goes away at 100 and im assuming it returns when you slow back down to around 80 it is improper wheel balance which can be caused by: a bent rim, loosing a wheel weight or a damaged tire. I'd take the wheels from the front and put them on the rear and go for a spin and see what happens. If no shaky then you know where the problem is.
