Flares and tires

HELLO,

What is the legal distance your tires can extend past your fenders in Canada?
Thanks in advance, Brother jj

For Ontario Law the most I was able to find for tires is as follows

"On “self propelled” vehicles and trailers over 1,820 kg (4000 lbs) you must have air filled tires in good condition that won’t damage or “pound” the highway. If you’re trailer is under 1,820 kg it can have solid rubber tires (no air fill) but there must be at least 31.5mm (1.25”) of rubber between the rim and the road."

Your tires will have a rating, they MUST be highway rated upto 100km/h if your on the highway. A cop can pull a "Notice to Conform" and you have 96 hours to prove your tires are road worthy, so this can be an issue with super wide tires. Your tires obveiously can't be rubbing, or making a stupid amount of noise when your driving down the highway.

Also "Every motor vehicle and every trailer shall be equipped with mudguards or fenders or other device adequate to reduce effectively the wheel spray or splash of water from the roadway to the rear thereof, unless adequate protection is afforded by the body of the motor vehicle or trailer or by a trailer drawn by the motor vehicle."

So don't take off your flares to make room for your big assed tires.

Anything else?
