broken zipper on soft top
Hey all, the zipper on my rear window is done. Now I can't even get it to close so I currently have no rear shield. Of course this happened when the temp dipped to a frigid 10 degC with rain forecasted for the next 3 days. Any advice? Do I have to get an entirely new soft top? Thanks.

To save money until I'm done trade school, I sewed my rear window in using fly fishing line. The top functions fine. It's a cheesy repair but the top is getting rough anyways and will need replacing soon enough.

Mac: that's pretty creative. The rest of my top is still in good shape so as much as I don't want to spend $ on a new top, I don't want to do any 'home repairs'. thanks for the tip.
Sid: Great idea...I'm gonna flip through my phonebook and check out some of those places. Hopefully it's repairable. thx! |

For those not inclined towards DIY, any marina will steer you in the right direction like Sid said. They've all got local jobbers that fix boat tops on tap. |
