2006 tj lift ideas

I know I am going to get a lot of responses, and/or opinions, but that is what I am looking for. I just bought my second TJ and it is completely stock, now I am looking to add a few things. So far I know I am putting on front and rear Smitybilt bumpers, Smitybilt rock rails, and a winch I am planning on running 33X12.5. I am wondering how much the bumpers and rails are going to weigh down the jeep. That could make a difference on what kind of lift I get. Thanks in advance for all the replies

If you get a 4" suspension lift (stay away from a body lift) you'll be able to run up to 35" trux's tires (they are actual size) without any problems of hitting anything.. I suggest offset rims for your tires.(usually 3.75" offset) on 15" steel rims. Again stay away from anything but STEEL, offroading with mags looks nice, but a steel rim if u damage it (like bend it) a good mallet will usually bring it back into place. I have a homemade rear bumper w/tires carrier and reinforced front std bumper in the front with a winch and 4" lift w/33x12.5r15 MT tires. You might want also to chk some of the other posts on this subject on this forum.

I have The XRC front bumper and XRC8 winch, it dropped my front end by about an inch and a half. I'd probly see what it looks like after the lift and add a coil spacer kit if it causes too much sag. If you dont want to run an SYE and CV rear, go with a 3" sus lift with a 1" body. you can still fit 35's. And possibly get away with out the SYE and such. If you get vibes your going to have to go with an SYE and CV rear drive shaft. Which would be a good start to a TT.

edit: check jeepfourm.com as well, there is a huge amount on this topic as well. Alot of people like the low center of gravity idea.

I had all the same questions that you did. And have gone through all lifts and body lifts. I have decided to go with a genrigt hi-line fender kit so i can run 35's with out a lift. It takes a lot out of trying to decide how tall and in my opinion keeps a low centre of gravity.

In time I would like to run 33's but for now it is only 31. Presently I am looking at spring spacers just to get me a couple of extra inches.

I have been eye balling the spacers from Rocmen and they are made from aluminum, a little $$ but they are not going to break!

now just have to figure out shock extensions as well as bump stop extensions. any ideas?
