From what I understand, warranty interpretation is pretty well up to individual dealerships. Some are reasonable and even install lifts and other mods on new vehicles before they deliver them and have no problem doing warranty work that's obviously not due to a normal and reasonable mods or off road abuse. Others don't.

Sounds like your dealer is being a bit of a sheit-head, and treating you as if you were one too. Post up these idiots names or if you feel uneasy doing that, at least post an easily identifiable location so other potential Jeep owners reading this can steer clear of those bums.

I mean a 1.5" lift is not exactly radical and the original tires on a 05 TJ must have been very very close to 31 inches.

Some guy on another forum suggested talking to the service manager reasonably and explaining to him that you have prepaid legal counsel through work, and unless the dealer can prove that your negligible mods were the cause of the rear end failure you would see him in court. That of course may only work if you are an excellent bluffer.

You could also mention that you will post on every Jeep forum known to man how his dealership is treating you.

Another avenue to explore is other dealerships. Take your Jeep somewhere else and explain the problem to the service manager. There lots of dealerships that love warranty money from head office and might not find your situation unreasonable.

All of that is of course is assuming you haven't been beating the crap out of your Jeep.

Good luck.

Alot of dealerships don't want warranty work. Chrysler does not pay the dealerships as much as non-warranty work. Speak to manager, nicely, and say that you will post on every forum about how bad they are. That should do the trick.

What actually blew in the rear end? Was it because of loss of oil? Spyder gears? Ring & pinion? Most of the time rear ends don't just blow up, there must have been some type of warning (grinding or clunking sounds).

Yes by all means post the dealership I will post a BEWARE sign to all sites and people I know. If you feel uneasy with it send me a private message with the name of the dealership.
