2005 Jeep TJ Wrangler Noise from front end

Hi Guys,

I'm a new used 2005 jeep tj owner. It's an automatic.
My problem is that at slow speeds, like while parking, I sometime notice a grinding noise from my from end in 2wd mode and the noise actually gets much worse when I switch to 4wd mode.

I know that in 4wd mode with the locked drive shafts are not working at optimal, but I didn't expect that kind of noise and bind, and still there's the noise in 2wd mode. Maybe I need to bring it to Mr. Lube and get a tranny, and diff oil change, as I'm sure the previous owner did not do that kind of maintenance.

Am I just being to sensitive to jeep noise, or do you guys think I'm having front differential failure of some kind.

Any help would help.

Thanks,
Ellison.

Ellison,

Congrats on the 05!
Rather than taking your TJ to an independent for servicing, I would recommend taking it to one of the many Chrysler dealers in Montréal.
They will not only be able to complete any service with Mopar approved fluids & parts but are factory trained and have the most up to date equipment to diagnose/repair any issue you might have.

If you need help locating one, go to Jeep.ca and click on "locate a retailer" or send me a PM with your VIN with name, phone number and I can set you up with one of your choice.

Good Luck and let us know how you make out.
