2001 Jeep TJ Front End Shake
I have a 2001 Jeep TJ and recently I have noticed an intermittant problem of a violent shake in the front end when I slightly apply the brakes when coming to a stop from highway speeds, after the shaking starts if I let off the brake the shaking is still there until I get below the speed of 40km/hr, tires look ok,wheel bearings seem to be good,I am in the process of replacing the front rotors and pads.I would like to know if anyone has had the same problem and what the fix is.Thank you in advance for all who reply.
Check all the balljoints , drag link , tyrod ends and the steering damper , replace them as needed and then get the alignment. My TJ did the same thing , the wheel bearings needed replaced and I did a toe in ajustment , been good since.
wow, jeeps have a death wobble also? i have a 1997 3/4 ton cummins. the steering box where it connects to the frame is the cause of the death wobble for the 3/4 ton.
i have been lucky in both my 04 tj and in my 97 cummins.
what is the cure for the death wobble in a tj?

Based on what you said was ok, I'd say it's your track bar bushing is on it's way out or it just needs tightening. If you're feeling the jeep walk around and pull to one side under braking, you'll want to check the control arm bushings.
