ZJ defogging problem, wifey is unhappy

Ok, here's the problem on these nice rainy days when the windshield fogs up
the defroster has a hell of a time trying to clear it, the wifey is getting
a tad upset that she has to drive with the window open to clear the fog
(keeps complaining about getting wet... I already handed her a rain
coat...didn't go over too good).
Any thoughts and ideas would be nice as she stole my XJ today.

TIA
Snow...

oh wifey has a 1993 ZJ, 4.0 :)

Rainex - "anti-fog" compound is a solution; but, has to be applied
often and it does promote the inside windows getting dirtier faster.
Anti-fog wont totally prevent the windows from fogging up but will be
much better than nothing.
She can also use it on the bathroom mirrors at home.

If you are talking about the inside of the windshield, you probably
aren't getting any air conditioning with defrost for some reason. The
A/C has to run to dehumidify the moist air. Of course the defroster
will eventually do it with just max heat, but it's much faster with
both heat and A/C.

Yes ment the inside of the windshield. A/C works on ac settings but I'm not
sure if it is running on the defrost setting, is there a separate relay for
the a/c when set to defrost?
