YJ stock ride height

Hey guys,
I got the front shackles on - I can see the difference in fender
clearance already. I'm waiting on grease sleeves (I'm pretty sure
that's what they're called) for the rear, which Performance Accessories
neglected to include in the box.
I was hoping somebody here knows the stock ride height for the YJ so I
can figure out how much higher I'm riding.
I forgot to measure before I started pulling stuff off and, besides, I
have 30" tires which are about, what, 3" taller than stock?
And a related question: where are these measurements generally taken
from? On the Rock Lizard Fabrications site he quotes the XJ stock ride
height as 17" rear and 17.5" front, which he apparently took from the
center of the wheel hub to the bottom of the stock fender flare.

Re: YJ stock ride height

Hmmm.... Usually it's bumper to the ground or frame to the ground for
ride height. That has been brought up and posted here in the past, same
as the CJ one.

I also believe the clearance from the axle to the frame rubber stoppers
is a valid 'height' measurement. When you raise a vehicle, you 'should'
lower the rubber stops. The TJ spacer kits come with lowered bump
stops. Without these, you over compress your springs which can flatten
or invert them.

Stock a YJ can handle 225's or 235's which are about 29 point something
or other tall, well better said long because the compression of the
vehicle usually doesn't count for the 'book' size. I think a 30x9.5
aftermarlket fits with no lift. A CJ or TJ can take 31's.

Re: YJ stock ride height

Stock ride height should be one half the distance measured between the
axle and bump rubber stop, when shock is fully extended via a bumper jack.
Take the measurement quickly as the longer shackle will de-ark the weaker
stock springs: http://www.----------.com/93-YJ-2.jpg

Re: YJ stock ride height

Thanks guys, I'll measure as soon as, well, as soon as it gets light
outside.
Bill, by bumper jack do you mean a jack positioned at the bumper?
