Y-series Ragtop flap-fix

All,

For those of us that have to endure the flapping of the ragtop half-door
windows above 50 mph, I came up with a cheap fix. I apologize if I am not
the first to think of it. Buy yourself some double-sided Velcro-type stuff
called "One-Wrap". You will need about 4 feet of the 1" wide webbing. Cut
two 12" sections and make a 1/2 inch "keyhole" slit near one end. Pry apart
the Velcro at the top of your door/window somewhere near the middle of the
window. Just below the metal rod frame, make a 1" slit in the fabric on the
INSIDE ONLY, as close as you can to the bar without cutting the stitching.
Wrap the keyhole end of the Velcro around the rod, insert the other end of
the strap through the keyhole and pull tight. Thread the free end through
the slit and pull the strap snug, then fasten down the Velcro on the window
again. Take a non-keyholed 12" length and wrap it very tightly around the
roll bar where the other strap will contact it with the door closed. Repeat
with the other side. Now close the door and simply pull the strap snug,
pulling the top of the door tight against the frame and wrap the free strap
around the Velcro on the roll bar and it will keep the top of the
door/window from flapping. It cuts down on heat loss and much of the wind
noise, but it doesn't hold so tight that you can't push the door open in an
emergency. Just remember to unfasten it before getting out or you'll feel
like a jackass!!
