Think of it this way. I put those pads on the ZJ back in April of 2002
and so far put 48,623 miles on them. I can still see the chamfer on
the cross drilled holes and the pads migh have lost 2mm or so, but are
still at greater than half the service life.

Otherwise I'd recommend you stick with OEM.

composite rotor kit? I really don't want to go back with composite as
they've been nothing but trouble since the XJ was new. What type of pads
does it include?

Not a bad run for those pads. I don't want OEM since they're composite,
unless there is a cast substitute.

The Jeep mechanic at the dealership was called-on by the parts guy to
assist me. He volunteered that MOPAR had such problems with the
earlier (composite) brakes, that they now are using Stainless.

The pads are carbon-metaiilc, I believe. One can get the same Kit,
but with ceramic pads for an additional $25 -30.

Incidentally, the $125.24 that I paid was discounted from the $165.00
list price because I had to make an extra trip because their computer
showed an inaccurate inventory.
