Wrangler Sahara Hard Top Installation?
I bought a 99 Wrangler last summer. A buddy of mine got the hard top
ready to take off while I was inside. I never thought it would be a big deal, but I put it back on the Jeep this weekend. This seems stupid, but the top is on the jeep fine, but the lock tabs over the windshield don't seem to go in. I get the impression I need someone to lift the top from the back giving me an angle so I can get the tabs in. I have all the bolts, and the two rubber boots, but it didn't seem real obvious where to put the boots. Can anyone tell me what I'm missing here? I started putting bolts in thinking it would tighten the top down, then the tabs would go in, but I stopped and thought I'd post and maybe get some help before I waste much time on it. |
Re: Wrangler Sahara Hard Top Installation?
It sounds like it needs to be reseated at the windshield. Lock the tabs
down before you "bolt" home. Tim Fisher <shotgunmess@hotmail.com> wrote in message news:1136167211.227326.81640@f14g2000cwb.googlegro ups.com... >I bought a 99 Wrangler last summer. Re: Wrangler Sahara Hard Top Installation?
On my '02 & '06 TJ hardtop, you install all 6 bolts and nuts loosely, then
latch the 2 front latches loosely. You must raise the latch handle all the way up, which actually lowers the latch to meet up with the slot in the windshield frame. Tighten the 6 bolts & nuts, then clamp the front latches closed by lowering the latch handles all the way.
