If you bypass the extension, you would have stayed on the main trail -- which is very mild. There is a water crossing late winter through summer -- it's dry after that. Your friend (EVERYTHING is steep/rocky in a Toyota) might be referring to this extension. There is also a fork near the end that leads to "Devil's Hole" -- that section is short, but rough. It's great place to swim and camp, though. The trail is also a great way to get to more difficult trails to the East in the Big Bear Lake area. Like I said before, I'd be happy to show it to you. There are other trails in the area, too, ranging from easy to very difficult. -- |
